Customer-Painted Interior French Doors

Job 1053 - Painted Interior French Doors
Our customer, Dai, had us install these interior French doors in his home unpainted. You can see the unpainted installation in our “Beveled Glass French Doors in Houston” blog.
After Dai painted the doors, he was kind enough to send us a photo of the completed result. I wanted you to have a chance to see the results after the paint was applied. We are impressed with the results!
The beveled glass French doors came from our supplier with a factory-applied protective film on each of the lites, or pieces of glass, which makes it easier to paint the doors. After the door is painted, simply score the edge of the glass with a razor or a box cutter, and peel the film off the glass. The film does a great job of protecting the glass from the paint, but even so there is usually a little clean-up required after the film is peeled off. A straight-edge razor will remove any paint that got past the film, and a spray can of cleaner will get the film residue off the glass. The result is a crisp, clean interior French door with beautiful clean glass lites.
